TOPIC: The move begins

The move begins 11 months 13 hours ago #1

I had my Max inspected, crated, and through Customs on Monday the 18th. My FJR1300A was picked-up this afternoon and has also cleared customs.

Tonight is our last night in this house. The last of our household goods get picked-up tomorrow then we are in temporary lodging for a few more days. We will be on our way to Las Cruces, New Mexico as of the 9th of July.

Welcome to the desert southwest Lee! Hope you have a safe trip.

I'm in Arizona, just down the road a bit from you.

Yea 106.9 is pretty hot. My brother lives in Tucson Arizona. He says it's not to bad because it's a " dry heat". To which I say "so is the oven, try to convince the roasting chicken."

Too bad we couldn't meet up this spring. I blame the shoulder.

But you guys must have been pretty busy! It's sad to see you go but I wish you all the best in New Mexico!

I wish you all the happiness & wonderful times in your new home!

Re: The move begins 10 months 4 weeks ago #9

While we were crating the Max almost everyone that was working in the warehouse and a few from the office came to look at it. Lots of Oohs and Ahhs, as I am sure you can all relate to. Once it was covered, one of the warehouse workers came and looked in on it through the holes that were cut for customs to see the VIN. He said it was just like looking in on a Peep-Show! "Instead of sexy women this is motorized sex" is what he said. I laughed, but had to agree. That was also the last view I had before it was fork-lifted away.

Only 6 more weeks....

Good thing the riding season is much longer in NM than here. The trade off is the roads being mostly straight there vs. curvy right outside my door here.

Soon...

Safe Travels Lee,

Don't "sweat" the heat in Las Cruces, because it is never as bad as AZ or TX....it has its own wierd climate patterns.

As for the curves, they can be found in the Gila (if its not on fire) and in the Ruidoso mountains of New Mexico. Out towards Capitain (home of Smokey Bear) and even on the routes to Roswell to visit the caves. SOme of the best riding country still left open and free is in NM

You MUST take your VMAX to White Sands for a photo opportunity......wow, that'd be kick!

Welcome home.......
