I'm having a discussion with a guy on another website who claims the Suzuki B-King is quicker than the 2nd gen Max...I know he's full of chit because I have seen times posted well into 9s on stock Vmaxes. I've never seen times for a B-King that quick, but he keeps posting magazine articles showing the B-King is quicker. I know I've seen videos of Jay Gleason running 9s on a stock Max, but I'll be damned if I can find them now. The only ones I can find now are of him running deep into the 9s on a slightly modded Max. Can you guys post some links showing 9 second runs on a stock Max...it has to be a stock bike....thanks.

I don't know of many VMax's that ran 9's bone stock.....Dale Walker ran 10.13 in Cycle World when the bike was first released. I don't ever remember seeing a B-King run in the 9's though either. At 4:00 minutes on this video you can see Jay Gleason run a 9.91 on a stock engine Gen2. This was the video Tim Nash made comparing ECU's....stock, race, and re-flashed. The same bike ran a 9.59 in the video with just an ECU change. |

In Motorcyclist magazine's article "Absolute power, corrupts absolutely" (March 2009)
The times were: Vmax corrected quarter mile: 10.41 @ 137.40 mph Bking corrected quarter mile: 10.13 @ 139.31 mph |

Chuck gotta have sumpin make up for my fat belly
But in all actuality they really dont help to much in times at least according to some really fast guys on turbo drag bikes but i like to think they help in the trap speed The front become lighter and lighter front means more wheelie's so launching is a little trickier but hell the Max is a handful at the line anyway , I still love my BST's |

I guy started the same time with a B-King. I was slightly faster and we were both getting to know our bikes. His was standard and he weighed much much lighter than me. He was doing about 10.2 secs I recall. I finally cracked the 10 secs on the last night for the season and I was just getting the hang of it. Any how since then I have been out of action with a couple of operations, but went once last year two days before my second Op. In my absence he had it lowered, a set of pipes, power commander and a few other mods. I did 8 runs all 10.2 and he was doing down to 9.7 secs, with more to come I think? Mate those B-Kings a very quick off the mark in the right hands. VMAXD |
