u packed and ready to go Kris?? I am ready Ted, the bike is ready, BUT the gods are not smiling at me. As I type this the rain is pounding! It's meant to hail the next couple of days, I am hoping it will "somehow" clear as I am so ready to have some fun Fingers crossed it will still happen. A guy can hope. Just my luck Here is the current forecast for the day: Cloudy. Areas of rain, easing to isolated showers during the morning. Showers tending more widespread over eastern suburbs in the afternoon. Winds southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h. Maybe they will get it wrong |

That's why I should have waited really.
I mean its winter here and temps in the 50-60 range and usually wet, what was I thinking Oh I know, I was so inpatient and sick of this winter I couldn't wait and now I will pay for it as the track day is non-refundable. There are so many fun things planned for summer I needed something in winter to break it up a bit |

It rained all night bedorehand and all day, but I still gave it a crack!
I had plans and was committed to see them through. So rain or shine I was going and I had a ball. Learned a thing or two about riding in wet! I rode 6 sessions today. 3 of them on a drenched track and the other 3 in semi-wet. The first three 20min sessions I really put on a show with my ass hanging out, out of corners I couldn't put all that power down no matter what. The flash and Brock's saw to that. I even had the 240 on with a bigger contact patch and still no go. Had to be very gentle on the throttle and respect the bike big time to stay upright and got caught out a few times quite bad. I think the guys loved the fact that I could be going 140 down the straight and could break traction with a beautiful mist behind me. The other three I showed them what a VMAX is all about. I got some of the traction back and was able to get on the throttle a lot sooner out of the corners I had a ball in the last 3 sessions. I was zooming past other bikes, enjoying that flash. I can only imagine how great it would have been on a dry track. But I am proud of keeping it upright and for staying committed in such conditions Here are some pics of the day. Big thank you goes to my brother for taking some great shots! picasaweb.google.com/112598246521502376588/BroadfordTrackday |

Well done brother!!! I enjoyed taking shots of you carving the track in wet and dry!!! Now that's what I am talking about! I am happy the pics turned out good...bloody hard to catch you with the lens...
It started out as a big disappointment with a lot of rain but with your passion and preserverance we had a blast!!! By the end of the day you showed the sporties what the max is about! Well dome bro!!! Takes passion and courage to take the flashed beast around the track |

Shit hot Kris. Wonderful photos.
You a legend mate. first Gen 2 VMAX I know of having a crack at the crotch rockets on their territory. 240 tyre and all, takes a bit of guts and balls to venture into the unknown. well done VMAXD |

Right on Qtip! Those angel eyes are killer...check out all the water behind him...the max had so much torque that it was wheel spinning down straight and still in front of the sporties hah!
There is nothing like the mighty max! When Kris tackled the corners and was in doubt with the wet track...he did one thing and that is WOT it out! |
