TOPIC: Driven CF Bars
Driven CF Bars 9 months 2 weeks ago #1

I had to take off the CF handlebars as I just could not get comfortable with them. I was getting this uneasy feeling setting up and going into turns with the bars for some reason. They did look cool with the cf theme of the bike but some times you need to go with function rather than finish (as I was told by my good friend Chuck back in the day). And I don't know about the rest of you running that bar but the vibration also seemed excessive through the grips. I dont know if was the different Driven gel grip pattern I tried (supersport) or what but my hands felt beat up even after short rides that included periodic bursts of triple digit speed, of course! So I decided to go back to what worked best for me so far, the Rizoma Standard 7/8 bar with spacers made for me by Ken @ Evoluzione (thanks Ken) and my Skull pattern Driven gel grips (been through three sets of these and love em, much less vibration and no hand cramps). Oh course the Rizoma bars are nice in black but I had to transform them into my version of cf bars! Turned out to be the easiest wrap of a part I've done to date. So my ride in to work today once again felt like I was on a brand new bike! Man I love the beast! What do you guys think?

Twin Daddy, Nice bar.
I want to get the set that Dale Walker sales as I hate the factory bar myself. I know how you feel. I have the same problem with the factory bar as it is just turn in to much for me. I need more of a drag bar type. I am trying to fine someone to make me a set that way I can be there and have them made the way I want. |

Very nice TD.....except for one small thing. I believe a little bit of aluminum accent would really set off the Carbon Fiber theme to the max. Say the meter cover for instance.....I got a real nice shiny aluminum one that I would be willing to swap.
Factory to factory swap....what do you think! Ken |

Thanks for the compliments guys. Yes Ty the set I had on was the Driven CF bar, the bar I sold you was by a different vendor. They looked very similar though pattern wise. I had also cut down the bar an inch at each end which may have had an adverse affect on the bar, ya live and ya learn! Im glad the wrap came out so well as the weave pattern now matches the rest of the cf parts and I always liked the Rizoma bar. My search for a cf bar was right there under my nose all along. Sorry Ken like Bob said More carbon fiber!
