TOPIC: Need help choosing/finding grips

Need help choosing/finding grips 9 months 2 weeks ago #1

hey guys, i recently did 400+ miles in one day on my gen 2 vmax. and my hands are completely killing me. I was wondering if anyone makes bigger or more comfortable grips that still looks clean, no chrome.

If anyone has any experience or can point me in the right direction, id appreciate it.

(oh and a pic for some spice)

I get 10-12 thousand miles outta them before they start to crap out. Little bit bigger of a grab, but got used to that very quikly. I really love them.

Here ya go!

Just like grip puppies!

Works like a charm.......one of the first things I did.

Been on the bike since I got it....holding up good but I only got 4000 miles on the animal so far.

I don't use the hair spray install way......real simple for me.......carefully rolled it up into a donut put it over the bar end and unrolled it like a sock. if needed adjusted I would roll it up part way again on the grip enough to still be able to move it and adjust for spacing. A little patience and your good to go.

Just got to be careful you don't tear it going on....I keep a set on hand!

Nice soft grip and works great when your pushing the bike a good distance without power.... through grass....uphill!!

4 1/4 inch length for this brand works just fine!

Matt, like the grip puppies. Didn't completely eliminate the vibrations / numbness on the throttle side after long rides. I'll probably get new handlebars from Sean this winter. Rick (TwistedMax) said the handlebar change really helps.

Get the puppies, they're cheap so you have nothing to lose.

I had a similar issue going from the the gen1s fat grips to the more sport bike like grips on the gen 2. Stuck on the grip puppies and it's got rid of most vibes but more importantly has eased the hand ache I had before I fitted them. Cheap, easy to fit and effective.

I had Grip Puppies on my Concours-14, and also put them on the Vmax.
For me, they were still just a little too fat.
So, I tried a pair of Oury grips (have to cut the ends off).
I used to run them on my dual-sport bikes, and my ATV's.
They are very soft (gel-like), and not slick so your gloves wont slip and you don't have to hold a death grip on the throttle.
They are not the "coolest looking", but, they work good for me, and they are very inexpensive.

Starting using these back in the Harley days finally they made them in black coupled with gloves with gel pad palms you are isolated

A Throttlemeister works wonders pulling miles too.
