TOPIC: who is this vmax guru?

who is this vmax guru? 4 years 3 months ago #1

I've been looking over this guys site and this guy is sharp! Does anyone know who he is? whats weird he's not promoting to sell anything but is going to alot of time and effort to figure things out on the bike. His videos are real interesting so far. As for me I'm not electronic/electrical savvy but on the other hand with mechanical I can build/fab anything. So this guy looks to be one of few that's getting real thorough with things. Has anyone watched the video of the bike on the dyno with the YCC stacks off to the side and see the power numbers he got? 191 whats that all about...your thoughts.

He even found the dyno he bought thru the owner of this site.. Yes, granted he's pretty sharp and does love to tinker, but some figures he posts are way off..

Be careful, his numbers are jaded and even off due to his lack of understanding of the dyno & how to set it up.

And you know this how??

My thoughts exactly. Arrogance or not, he certianly seems on the ball. I've ran a dyno before, tuning fuel injection is one thing, but getting accurate numbers out of one is something a trained chimp could figure out, its not that complicated.

I have nothing against the guru, I'll probably run up to his shop to dyno my bike soon as we're less than 80 miles apart. There's certain things he's very good at, and the electronics is where he'll shine.. I do respect & applaud his efforts tho..:cheer:

Sorry but that is BS. You are all free to talk about whoever you want. He is a smart guy with lots of good tools including a dyno.

Yes he was a member here but unfortunately that did not work out for various reasons.

As far as dyno numbers: If you use uncorrected numbers and do runs on 30 degree days, that is what you will see. The VMax with just the filters off make over 181-182 on a 50 degree day. Corrected that 's about 175 SAE and about 180 DIN.

Well, I liked the guy. I never really understood what happened when he booted (nor you I care)but I sold him my boulevard windshield and he was super nice and honest.

Bottom line there are A LOT of "alpha" personalitys on this site and some times that causes friction. But, what do you expect for a group of guys (and 1 gal)that own the most bad ass motorcycle on the planet!?!

I bet it is much more tame on the scooter forums! LOL!

I thought the "hehehe" at the end of the sentence would let everyone know I was JOKING.
