They were at my house in the summer of 2005 .
I don`t think they knew they were going to have a grand opening for the vmax . Guess they needed a press release.
There were about 4 Don`t hold me to it . People from the VMOA there . Can`t figure that either .

All said and done. I`m happy with the 09 . Couldn`t built one for the 18k spent .

Oh, I didn't realize that, the Yamaha "Suit" visit was way back in 2005...

That guy I was talking about that got an invite to the USS Midway unveiling thingie...he is up there on the VMOA members listing...without going to the VMOA page and checking, if I remember, I would say in the low 1,000s area for VMOA "Badge" number...he didn't mention that other VMOA members were there...but then again he was really tight lipped about the thing to start with...maybe Yamaha offered him, free stickers for life or something...

Anyhow...been surfing the JN pages this morning and found some interesting blogs, both from normal VMaxers but also some bike rags and vendors...

Get a load of this...

It looks like the "re-Imported" 2009 V-Max model debute at some select dealerships (Baron is a large nationwide bike franchise chain), will happen sooner than later...inside sources have it that the "units" are already in storage (customs bond for short) and could be shipped out in a few days notice...

Here's whats interesting though...Yamaha has provided these same sources with what will be included with and some options that will be available with the sold units...

1) Three (3) Year Factory Warranty included (I want my extra year...)
2) Full Speed and Power Range (ummmm...you can read anything into that statement, IF it is true...).
3) Optional "coded key" system...never did hear how many units were originally being looked at for the European market area on the pre-order campaign..perhaps Yamaha made too many spare part coded key assemblies??? (I want that option too...decreases my Geico Insurance rates)
4) Optional body parts (no particulars but does that mean you can order with the Carbon parts instead of the steel and plastic ones...I want that option too...)
5) All other Specs are for the US model...(ummmm...more questions...)

Soooo...there would seem to be some scrambling going on here behind closed doors...of course blogs and "from informed sources gospel truth" stuff is not to be trusted, most of the time...just have to see how this plays out...

I may still be able to put my 2006, 2009 and all the spare parts and tools in the same container and have it all shipped back home to JN land...soon I hope...

On the Question, if there will be a 2010 Model ...

The Reservation Prodedure for Europe is online since Days ago ...

VmaxBeast stated a 3000 Euro Price increase in the Netherlands, Germany has the same Price as 2008.

So the Answer is, Yes, there will be a 2010 Model, at least in Europe.

This is also according to an public released Interview of a british M/C Magazine with Akira Arakaki, the Project Manager for the VMAX.

He stated in that Interview Yammi will give the Bike 5 Years of Production and decide after that if the Bike wil be continued. This comes from very high up in the Company, so I believe you can count on that Plan for the Time spoken for. A Lot of european Countries were sold out last Year, Netherlands(they even got an extra Lot), Germany, France, Swiss, probably Italy.

As it seems to be with all forums they sometimes get off track but hey Freedom of Speech "so far" is still something we have.
So anyway, not to throw myself into the fire and make anyone more upset than they are, because I also would not be happy.
I had an 02 VMax that I was completly happy with until I saw an '09 at a dealership. I sold my '02 and now have '09 in the garage. I 100% UNDERSTAND how upset some of the deposit people must be having to wait. I for one would be on the phone min. once a week to the dealer. Now please don't shoot me because I feel for the "pre-buyers". That must suck.

www.wildbros.com/

Bottom of the page are a couple of vmoa members on the vmax .At the opening.

my vmoa # is 571 . There are only 1600 active members from what I understand . Out of 5000+ members . There droping like flys .
I think they should have asked the guys that did the interviews LOL .

After all the $$$ Yamaha spent on R&D they will make them for a few years .
I think once people start seeing maxes on the streets they are going to want them. Just my 2 cents

Just us die hards put $1000 . To get the bike I brought it and never seen it . But I`m real happy with it :)

Yeah, I guess Yamaha must have sold a lot more in Europe as far as market share goes...GOOD FOR YOU!!!...keeping the legend alive...thanks...as for the USA Market...I read a lot of blogs from supposedly devoted V-Maxers but there seems to be a disconnect amongst the cult members...slamming each other...seeing who can be better than the next V-Maxer brother cult rider...don't get me wrong...I know there are a lot of pools of V-Maxer "local friends" groups within the 50 States and Territories but it's not like the kinship that you see in other parts of the world...and I have ridden in other parts of the world (Japan, Scotland, England, Ireland, France, Philippines, Thailand...to name a few)...I know the USA is vast in area and that tends to keep those groups of V-Maxers apart except for those few "National" gatherings during the year...unless I missed something, I have never heard of Yamaha announcing the same type of continued sales pitch for the US Market...correct me if I'm wrong and again, only the "FEW" were privy to the insider info...

One area that has really gotten out of hand and is NOT across the board but widespread nevertheless is the Harley Davidson crowd, who's riders have basically said, "we're better than the rest of you foreign rice-cooker riders" mentality which unfortunately has trickled over into other biker groups...

What difference does it make what model of bike you have...lets just ride and at least if you're going to say we're better, say it to the SUV and large auto owners...at least us bikers are saving on fuel and saving a little bit of the ozone layer...

I hope Arakaki-san visits the other market areas and announces the same sort of thing, soon.

Thanks for the info...and ride safe...

Oh MASTERFUL ONE #571...

I am wayyyyyy higher than that...reason is I never had the need to join before...had a group of bikers that I always rode with...

I'm sooooooooo glad that I am one of the 1,600 active members...NOT...

Soon to be NOT one of the 5,000+ too, if the regional person in SW doesn't start organizing something...have never talked to or had contact with that person...

Anyhow...going out today to watch crouch-rockets crash on the twisties on I-94...there's always one or two on weekends...need to check the temp on my '09 anyway...after my investigation yesterday...oh that's right...wrong forum...MY WRONG...

What really ticks me off is that Yamaha is giving these "extra" bikes to dealers, come 5+ units in Southern Cal dealership who was not even supposed to order for themselves and I still havent got my bike I ordered "correctly" on Aug 1

Seems like the priorities are messed up :arghhh:

Uhhhh....there are no "extra" bikes. The bikes being delivered were built to order, and as I said in an earlier post some (maybe many) dealers also ordered bikes. They followed the same protocol -$1000 down and wait for delivery.

Mark

Yep, that's what my dealer told me. Had to put 1K down in somebodies name to order the bike.

I agree the Harley guys think they are above us metric guys, give you a funny example.
My son and I work at Triangle Cycle North in Danville, Va, he is a tech and I work in sales.
A Harley guy came into the service area the other day and the service manager was at lunch so my son the tech asked him if he could help him. Well sometime during the conversation the Harley guys says " I smell rice burning in here", my son said " only thing I smell is oil burning". The Harley guys says "well I can tell you my Harley does not burn any oil". Then my son said " Yours may not burn oil, but the last Harley I put on the dino after the run I had to mop up the oil and use a shovel to pickup all the parts". That pretty much shut the Harley guy up.

And I was there that day sure enough, the Harleys oil filter unscrewed and oil went all over the dino, and his chrome air cleaner and right side foot peg fell off during the run.

Seems to me Harley should include with each owners manual a small tube of locktite.

:cheer: Hello,

Last Friday 02/20/09 my local Yamaha dealer told me that they could not order anymore 2009 VMax because the factory has sold out. Does anyone have any information if Yamaha has actually sold out or not? Has anyone talked to their dealer or tried to order a new VMax in the last couple days, just curious if the rumor is true or not.

In the US, orders were cut off at the end of October. Could be that the person you talked to used the phrase "sold out" as a generic phrase to mean people can not order any more this year. That date was pre-determined by Yamaha/Star.
