I am curious if everyone is satisfied with the factory accessories they had purchased for the 09 Vmax.
I have always bought factory Vmax accessories in the past for the Gen1 series and have been very pleased with fit, function and finish of everything I had purchased. |

I agree with every thing you said, Ernie.

It is what it is guys. I agree on the finish issues, and the price we paid for these items, but we're not gonna change it. I had to strip my backrest within 3 weeks of getting the bike and redo the clear. Until someone else steps up with alternatives, we're stuck with what Yamaha made for this bike.

So far, the only Yamaha accessory I have is the Boulevard windscreen, and it is a quality item.

We can all assume Yamaha outsources these items...
I am am assuming that since backrest backorders have not been filled for months... and the date was just pushed to mid-july, that they are addressing quality issues... With that said, I have not had any quality issues with my backrest. But it was in what I perceive as the "second" or at least not the first shipment... as it was on back order for quite awhile after many folks had received the first batch. I am hoping things will be improving soon... both in terms of quality and delivery times... |

To me, Corbin has the best looking passenger seat and back rest combo for the 09 VMax, but like all their seats pretty pricy.

I ordered all the stuff I bought at the same time I ordered the bike. All but the backrest arrived well in advance of the ride. Backrest came in a few days after the bike. Touring windshhield is great for my height. Good wind protection, low noise, near perfect fit on the bike, as are all the accessories i bought. Back rest is kind of skimpy to me, (too low), but the wife is happy with it. Finish is on par with the bike. Luggage rack is actually more useable than others I've had, finish also excellent.
Good luck with acheiving a satisfactory solution! N |

We bought the boulevard windscreen and it looks great, fit and finish exemplary. Unfortunately after 5 months of use the aluminum parts under the clearcoat paint start to show some wear.
We both bought the stiletto seat: a first class product and it looks fantastic. No complaints so far. We bought a tank pad: outstanding product which suits the bike perfectly; its design takes the fabric of the seat further. Really great! No complaints. We ordered the sissybar and the luggage rack (is not yet in). Our friend Roland has this combination also and especially the luggage rack is disappointing as regards to the amount of weight it can hold. In a fortnight he's off on holiday and he has strenghtened the luggage rack with an extra steel bracket. |
