TOPIC: Dunlop Elite 3 Tire? And My Black out Part 1

Dunlop Elite 3 Tire? And My Black out Part 1 1 year, 11 months ago #1

I Put on the new Donlop Elite 3 tires and would like some feed back on the tire if someone out there has used them yet..This tire is wide 200/50-18 and i had to remove the mount plug for the caliper on the swing arm just to get this tire in place..As you can see this thing looks good..Just hope it's a good tire..If not, O Well. It's just nice to have a new front and back tire on now..

Let me know what you think! And i added a pin stripe and the next pic is the BEAST waiting on it BLACK Parts to come back next week..Can't Wait!!

I like the look of your Dunlop and the RSW looks great too. I have run the elite series on other bikes and was very happy with the all around performance of the tire but the similar Dunlop Roadsmart series is one of my all time favorite tires.

The elite "3" is a harder compound -takes longer to build heat and also lacks the micro carbon the roadsmart has ( they leave strange little carbon tire dust all over the bike but provide unreal traction when you are leaned way over) . Just like any tire make sure you build some even heat before you get agressive in the turns. I am anxious to try that tire on my max if there are no other softer dunlops when i'm ready. Any pics of the front? It would be fantastic if dunlop put the roadsmart into production in our size.
In the mean time the ol battle ax has gained my respect as a real good performing tire. I had my doubts at first .
Bike should come together real nice with what you are dong to it there. Keep us posted.

Quality is remembered long after price has been forgotten

It is going to look great. I would love to do all those parts too (except scoops). How much is it going to cost you?

I wouldn't mind buying a new handlebar and doing it in black and then having the Yam dealer replace it. I am not sure I want to tackle changing that.
