TOPIC: Bad Timing

Bad Timing 1 year, 11 months ago #1

Finally going to get a Sunny 50+ degree day here in Beautiful Indianapolis Indiana, and I can't take advantage of getting on the Beast for a much needed ride. Was playing my weekly game of pick-up B-Ball Tuesday afternoon and turned my ankle. High ankle sprain I was going to make a go of it, thought I could ride as long as I rested the bike on my good ankle, but am afraid that if the bike weight shifts sides I couldn't hold it up on my bad ankle, also the bad ankle is on the shift side. Looks like I'm going to have to ride this thing this weekend.

Just this one time we will look the other way.
But just this one time ( LOL )........

Re:Bad Timing 1 year, 11 months ago #3

I don't talk to Scooter thugs.... They swarm into the StarBucks parking lot and intimidate us bike riders. They swill coffee like it's a beer or something, then get rowdy. They take their cell's and laptops out and suck all the Wi-Fi out of the place. Once they are done they all pack up, board their Scooter's and swarm the next target location. It's horrible to see and expereince.

Oh, then there are the snide remarks.... "that's a 1700? and they didn't even make a step through for it?"

Or....."You paid what? And you still have to shift it to go?"

And the really cruel remark....." all that rubber in the tires, and then they only last 6000 miles?"

Tom, I really hope your ankle gets better.

Have you been asked to "prospect" for the local scooter club?

I hear you have to text 5000 times in a certain time frame, or recite the 20 wi-fi spots from memory.

They have a skills test too, like being able to throw over a rucksack on your shoulder and balance the scooter around the parking lot with your knees together and your feet pointed straight ahead.

I better stop this................it could become an epidemic at StarBucks across the country. Look what they did with open carry in the news today at StarBucks.

Let's not forget to throw them the "Bikers wave" when you see one, cause they will only turn around and chase you down on them "little wheels".

Disclaimer: This post is in jest only, no intention of personal insult was meant. If this offends anyone please do not read it, but since you have ignore it.

I'm out riding it and get laughed at all day by Bikers, old ladies, etc, but then I get home and pull out the MAX and go out and show them all. HAHAHAHA.

Tom,

Don't want you to feel alone on two things:

1) Injury
Injury event: 12 foot fall unto concrete floor
Injury cause: Ladder footing kicked out
Obstuction in fall path: Multi-tiered shelves with hardwood stacks.
Successful in destroying at least one shelf during fall: Yes
Landing position: Face down
Cell phone in front pocket damage: None
Front face of lower legs removed: Yes
Infection developed: Of course
Heroic attempt to grab something during fall: Naturally
Reaction time to grab for a drywall opening: .501 second
Success in finger latch of dryway: Yes
Tips of fingers holding power: Less than 200 pounds
My dead weight: More than 200 pounds
Muscle damage in arms: Of course, I've been around a while.
Worried about my right hand going numb while riding: Not no more
Stupidity factor: 9
Reminder of stupidity factor: 24/7

2)Scooter
Location: Lowe's
Scooter type: Not really - electric cart
Looks from other people: Many
What's wrong with you looks from other people: Many
Years waiting to hop on one of these: Many
Horseplay on electric cart: Of course
Pretending I was on the Dragon through the store: Why not
Wife pretending she doesn't know me: Of course

BTW... I do like Scooters! I would love to have one around town.
