Ok plan on adding another horse to the stable always fun started out looking at the simple Suzuki DRZ400 SM but wtf are they crazy to ask 1.5k more for a detuned DRZ450 some street tires and lights? Word also is tou have to rev the piss out of the thing.
So continued down the road KTM Aprilia and Husky dealer Aprilia 550 vtwin not so hot long motor life Husky omg ever sit on 1 like a brick and smog parts hangin off all over the motor. KTM Duke690 or used 640 very nice single pumping out 65hp rear wheel in a 300 lb package they just seem like a blast to ride and flick around like the old dirt bike days. Option 2 09 Super Dukes aparently made too many of them now offered at 5K off msrp in the same price of the single duke now tou get 400 lbs 120 hp 990 V-twin also light weight compared to monster max Ok here is the question anyone here have either of these bikes or Supermotard style bike as second? I know KTM is funky styled but so is Mr Max thanks Tyler |

Same here, don't own one but I have a friend that does and he also loves it, says it is a blast to ride but finds the seat a little hard after a day of riding. As for the styling I like it, its different but very cool! Be careful it is a wheelie monster, with it slight weight and all the torque from that beefy V-twin(YEE-HAA)!!!

All KTM bikes are too high for me. And I expect for most women! Too bad KTM, you kicked yourself out of the lady bikers' market.
Motor reporters here were ecstatic about the SuperDuke, but I don't know what you exactly want in a bike. If you want to act like a hooligan go for the Duke! |

Well droped the deposit off for the 2002 Duke only has 1k miles and looks brand new other than the 8yr old Pirelli rubber worked a new set of sneakers into the deal also fork rebuild and carb cleaning going to pick it up Tuesday Has a dual Akrapovic carbon fiber exhaust with ti head pipe sounds like a potato launcher.
Found out the Super Duke is high risk 990cc falling into sport bike territory insurance per year with the 09 max. Max drops from 489.00 to 370.00 with 2nd bike the Super Duke would be aditional 690.00 ouch the Duke640 is only 170.00 aditional so kinda balances out for insurance not bad and used taxes will be cheaper. Babe as to seat height the Duke is same as max 31in but yes they have some verrrrry tall bikes the Adventure Touring is 37 in seat height. Wife almost made me tripple the budget on the second bike as passenger she really liked the Super Motard 990R the thing is light weight 414lbs seating for 2 up it the best I have ever fealt and seat height is 32in BUT 14K for second bike I dont think so I offered 10K wating for owners response also insurance quote Saturday. later Ty |

I like the KTM's, really nice bike. By the way my son took a 06 Honda 450F dirt bike, made it into a supermoto, wheels, tires, exhaust, sprockets, lights, turn signals, the whole nine yards.
Two summers ago he put it on the shops dino and it made 52.9 hp at the rear tire @ 125mph. Really neet looking to see a dirt bike going down the road at highway speeds. Quite a few law officers turned around on him at took a closer look then waved and went on their way. |

Sorry Randi wife looks at me funny when I take pictures of things she has no real interest in and try to share them here. Still looks like the 02 Duke 640 is going to be the bike after checking insurance rates on the 2010 990 Supermoto adding a second bike to putz around on for extra grand thats right a Super Duke was 700.00 and the Supermoto was 989.00 wow and Vmax is 400.00 go figure. My insurance writer did say that he would definatley have to have the exact vin no so many insurance companies have limited KTM's in their system nd with the vin the 02 Duke is 107.00 aditional per year can deal with that easy. will post pics on tues when it comes home.
