JUDGEMENT DAY 1 year, 7 months ago #1

Its finally here after getting my reckless driving ticket nearly one year ago. Friday July 9th at 8:30 I will know my fate. I'm going in solo, (no lawyer), because I going in remorseful and asking for leniency, hoping that my past record speaks for itself. This is my first reckless driving ticket ever and my first ticket of any kind in 15 yrs. And no tickets since. I'm hoping for the "online" driving course, ($60), reasonable fine and court cost, and the two yr probation to keep it off my record. I'm already out $110 for the tow, so I'm hoping all together no more than 500 bones total. That a lot of scratch for going 115 mph for 3 seconds.

Oh well, you know the ole saying-"IF YOU CAN'T PAY THE FINE, DON'T DO THE CRIME"

Tom,
I was header North on I-5 yesterday going towards Lindbergh Field, doing around 75 MPH, when I was passed up by what looked like a 125cc Scooter with his rear end vibrating left and right and I immediately thought of you on your scooter...

Speak ONLY when spoken to and NEVER plead GUILTY...let them find you Guilty or Not Guilty...and then face the music...

Hopefully, the $500 will be something a bit less and then you can get on with your life...

I got nailed years ago on a 1985 V-Max doing 85 in a 40 and got my $1,600 fine down to $600...

Let us know what happens...

Tom, Good Luck and I wish you the best. I have special thoughts for people like the ones you face in court over a silly fine and their ability to make your life less than.

They'll get their justice in the end too!

Sure it is July 9, If not you missed it.But if you had good driving record, on a max it is hard, But you could ash the Judge for deferred judification. Still pay ticket and get 6 month probation, but it will not go on record. Good Luck

Tom,

I had no idea that The Scooter would go that fast ?

Seriously,

I'll have a Good Thought for you !

Maybe you'll get lucky and the arresting officer won't be able to make it !

Good Luck, Mark

You should go talk to an attorney and see what they can do for you on this one. They can get delayed and possibly dismissed for you. Or the fine reduced.. Being so long sense you last ticket speaks volumes with the court sometimes. Unless he/she is a Di*k..Well then your just screwed. Deferred Adjudication is always an option.

Your a grown A$$ man so you will do what you are going to do..Good luck!! Let us know!

The only way my scooter would do 115 is if it was being hauled in the back of a pick-up doing a 115.

Appreciate the thought. I hope he doesn't show up. Happened to me years ago, the officer didn't show and they threw it out, but that was a regular speed ticket, not a reckless driving which in this state is a felony. So my luck is if officer doesn't show then they will probably do a continuance and make me come back.
