TOPIC: Man almost down

Man almost down 1 year, 6 months ago #1

Not to be a bummer here butt needed some vent or something. I was attempting to waterski 48 hrs ago-waz trying to get up-and SNAP!, my left bicep broke in half(distal rupture of the tendon). This makes the bicep roll up into the upper arm like a venetian blind(popeye sign). Pain is minimal...... I could let this heal(about a month) and live the rest of my life without my left bicep--I can still work, and should be able to ride soon--adjusting to the loss of strength, and certain obvious limitations. Or I can have surgery and be down for six months and if I do not find a doc to run my clinic, risk going outta business, Butt, my bicep would be fixed(they can fix it). I have under three weeks to decide. And most importantly, I wont ride Max for some time.
Thoughts anyone????

I would do my best to find someone you can trust to help you run your clinic and get your bicep fixed. Keeping yourself in good health should be a top priority.

You gotta get it fixed. My son just recently went and had his broken clavical fixed. He had been working & living just fine for over 1 1/2 years, but now that he's had it fixed, he is 100% again. No need to be incapacitated even the slightest, especially while you're young. Get it fixed, the right way..

Wow it like the Vmax running on two cylinders! Dont know what you do for a living but I hear ya about what would happen if all of a sudden I couldnt work self employed and make 95% of the family income hear about Aflack all the time but never checkid into it probably should.
As to fix it or not if life is going to fall in the crapper thats a tough choice kinda sounds like it will one way or another good luck Tyler

Docrok, that looks very painful.

Get it done properly or you will regret it down the line. It sounds like you have a very small window of opportunity here to make your decision. I agree with everyone else here that you should take the time out and get it to heal the proper way

I am not sure about your other life circustances and if this is an option for you, but if you can make it work some way, do it. Your health should be a number 1 priority for you and your family

It may be a pain in the azz er arm, but you need to get it fixed. Ride next year. You'll have an extra arm to do it with. Honestly, you got to have your health, if it all possible. Get er done!

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. Sounds painful, but glad you're not suffering too much.

I look at things as if I were in your shoes, so that being said...
I would get it fixed by a competent Doctor that specializes in that particular injury and surgery. I understand about your business fears, however you need to have some faith that the good Lord will help you get through the down time by meeting your needs.

Finding someone trustworthy to run the clinic while you're down is a first step, then you will feel at peace with getting the surgery for the arm.

be encouraged
