Akropovic x pipe question 1 year, 5 months ago #1

Does anybody know if the akropovic x pipe will work with factory cans and heat shields? I'm looking into UFO x pipe but I hear I have to trim heat shields.

With the Akrapovic pipe and standard cans you will need to trim a small amount from the left heatshield as shown in the picture below.

This is exactly what i was looking for... is the metal easy to cut (aluminum?) but more importantly, is it easy to cut and make look good?

Are there any x-pipes that do not require cutting?

With the Akrapovic mid pipe you need to cut this little the left heatshield. X-Pipe fits perfecly in the originals cans and you don't need to cut anything.

The heat sheild is made from stainless steel and can be a little difficult to cut. The pipe from both Akro and UFO come with a template to show exactly what need to cut, if you take your time with a pair of tin snips it should do the job!

Here is mine with Akro Mid's... Shield's cut... I think they look decent.
Cut the shields with a dremel tool took about 10 min.
