I'm sorry, you're right, i forgot those two.

But i long replaced these two Bolts with turned down Allen Heads(M6x40 long, turned the Allen Heads down to 6.2mm on the Lathe) so, i can pull the front Seat without using a Tool.

Regarding the Dimension of this Job ....

Yes, i also don't think they made a Masterpiece in mounting that Fake Tank. I really tinker around with the Idea to replace the Bolts with some 1/4 Turn Fatseners like Dzus. On the other Hand, once you know the Drill, it's not that hard and doesn't take long.

I usually just pull the scoops to begin with --It makes the whole job easier to begin with !

Couple other pointers:

Lay out bolts in pattern removed ...they are specific for location!

Be very cafeful lifting and replacing around the scoops...don't want to mark one up after they spent 30 minutes polishing each one of them.

Item 8 - Be careful tightening, they are low torque and compress a rubber bushing at the rear cover ears.

Item 11 - These may not break loose freely the first time as I believe they thread into brass inserts (dissimilar metals sometimes hang up) Mine was a bear getting out first time.

I've lost count on how many times I've had mine off along with the disfunctional scoops. Opps, did I say disfunctional scoops...I meant hollow and open on the inside.

I'm gonna guess your right !

But the bolts are not missing !

I just know every time I've done that job(5 times I think ?) I've always taken the scoops off .

Just thinking---Does it make it easier to get at one of the nuts on the rear side if the F & R scoop bolts are out ? So the scoop will somewhat move ? Seems like I remember something like that ?

It gets tougher to remember details the older you get !
