I replaced my solenoid after adding the race tether kill switch. Today it happened again, took off the fak tank, checked the 30 amp fuse....good, took the plug out, installed it back in and tried it again....finally started...
Has anyone had this issue?

A little late for this I guess but...just a heads up Ron....the tether kill switch is not required on the Max according to NHRA rules because it has a tip-over sensor built in.

Oh really... Cool but do you have a source for this information? This would be a big help to me. I'm trying to figure out what all I will need to run the Texas Mile here in March so this would be one less thing I would need to buy if they will allow?

Thanks!!
David.

It's right in the NHRA rule book.......as far as I know it's not applicable to any of the Mile racetracks however, they do not use the NHRA rule book. I'm pretty sure each track has it's own set of rules.

The Texas Mile rule book can be found right here:
www.texasmile.net/pdf/TexasMileRRTS_2011_4_Edition.pdf

I did a quick search and found that tip-over sensors are not acceptable there as an engine shut off device. They will require a lanyard/tether.

David if you are serious about running as fast a possible...... beyond what is required in the rule book, I would strongly recommend 2 bolt on mods for your bike..

1. Re-Flashed ECU from GuruedGear. This will increase the maximum allowable rpm of the engine. As you know the stock ECU will limit you to 138 mph.

2. An Avon AV72 Cobra 200/55R18 rear tire. This taller tire will give you a gearing advantage over the stock size and allow you to run faster.

With these 2 inexpensive modifications speeds of over 170 mph are theoretically possible.

Just noticed in the latest issue of AMCN that Evelyne Scholz set a new record of 264 km/h (165.377mph) for a stock production machine up to 2000cc.

Swoozie on her Vmax set a record in 2009.. From over 2 yrs ago in this Thread

Mark... thanks a lot for that information! I will try to and see if they will allow it but I'm sure you're right about needing a Lanyard.

I'm going to get with Tim here in the next few days and see about getting the ECU done and once I hear back from the tech at Texas Mile, I will start working on the bike. I'm going to just baseline the bike this March with stock everything expect's TIm's ECU Mod. Then next October I will add a few more mods and so on until I hit 200 MPH. I'm going to take it slow as to allow for monies and also give myself and others options for each mod. It would be nice to know what our bikes are able to do with different setups (top speed that is).

So far I see a guy running a VROD and he's at about 169 so I need to run about that or better to take the next event. My hopes are to make the track record here come October but this March will be a "test" run for me. ;)

Thanks again for taking the time to reply!
