Glad it turned for you Ted. While you have it in the shop, you could have them check your gear sensor and fix that 4th gear display prollem.

If the crank position sensor failed...the bike will not start. The crank position sensor is one of many inputs required to schedule fuel to the injectors. The ECU won't let it start without that input. Man, I hope Yamaha doesn't have an issue with the Vmax crank position sensor like they did with the Warrior's...I went through 3 on my Warrior.

Glad it started for you. Let us know if they find anything. It's a tricky beast sometimes. I know if I kill my engine with the kill switch and restart it The EBS light comes on and stays on until the bike is shut down normally and restarted!!!!

I always turn my bike off with the key..I wouldn't think it would matter, but i could be wrong..I have been b4..

Yea, i'll tell them AGAIN about the 4th gear flashing when in that gear..I told them when i dropped it off a couple weeks ago to do the recall, but i guess it didn't get looked @..I'll make sure this time with them tho..

I'll look over the the #4 wire and double check the battey too..Long as it start up and gets me to the dealer i don't care..

Try killing yours with the kill switch and then restart it with out turning the key off first. I think that is the senario that turns my EBS light on.

AS far as proper way to shut off bike to each his own. I normally use the key. Sometimes I put the kick stand down to soon with it in gear which kills the engine Trouble with that is, at my age, I then forget to turn the ignition off and drain the battery.

also, @ your age you don't hear the high pitch sound that comes from the bike to turn it off..Do you? lol! J/J

That's why i turn my key 1st or i would kill my battery ever time..
