Good Day Gents.
I recently bought a 2010 VMAX with 1000 miles on the clock I then fitted a Akrapovic collector
and Akrapovic slip on's I then took the bike for a test ride and found that when you come off
the throttle there is a bit of popping and a slight backfire coming from the exhaust and when
this happens there is a small blue flame coming out of the can some of the time,I called a
mate of mine and he said that this was normal for a VMAX. The popping does not bother me but
I was just wondering if this is okay or am I going to pick up some problems I believe a PCV could
solve this problem but I do not want to fit one at this time and jusy want to know if it is safe
to ride the bike like this. Your input would really be appreciated.

There's an Air Injection Solenoid under the left scoop. It's purpose was to inject air into the Catalytic converter to help do it's job better. If you eliminate that function by plugging the A.I.S. the popping is greatly reduced. This Thread shows you how.

That is the one part of the fix but do not not forget Tim's reflash to eliminate the popping altogether, and with the reflash you get a improved fuel map, better throttle responce and overall smoother running MAX.
