you can see the difference in the stock OE friction plates & the EBC plates..& this was really the only metal plate that had some blueish dark marks on it.. Thanks again for the help Capt. The only other issues I had with the ebc friction plates are it's not clearly marked on how to line it up properly.. it has some yellowish looking colors that's about it.. everything installed okay but I'm getting a stutter or shake when I go to let out to clutch in 1st.. went for a ride and everything feels good & pulls harder now.. Any thoughts on the first gear issue i'm having? Or is this normal? |

Ted did you offset the last friction plate?
The other thing is (a little late for this suggestion but...) the ears on the plates usually have a bevel to them on one side. If that is present you are supposed face them all the same way, doesn't matter if it's facing in or out but they should be the same. I can't say that either one of those 2 suggestions would fix what you are describing....the clutch may just need to wear in a bit. If it gets worse or does not go away I would pull it apart again and follow the manuals instructions on measuring the thickness of the entire clutch pack. |

I had the same problem . I didn't soak them overnight .(mistake) They have a lot of new friction material compared to stock. I really had to oil "everything"(all parts) really good ,now I have no issue's They work great now.

Man, was that a pain in the A$$ to push up the driveway.. BEAST is heavy.. Called & talked to Capt. & I think I got it figured it out after that I did shift it over one place to the dot marked on it..But with the ebc, there is really not any marks on it to go out.. everything on both sides is exact same way no difference.. kind of a pain in the A$$ & confusing a little, but I'm pretty sure that I have the correct... I may remove the DD to see how it reacts as well.. |
