What I am unsure about is does the UFO retain the stock springs etc. I dont want to order parts that I might already have

I would just print out page 87, and then take a peak under your bike. There are only about 10 parts and half of them are screws, washers, a spring...etc. |

be carefull when cutting kick stands.i see alot of customers make that mistake.i believe with 2" the stock wont work.do if you have a 240 rear tire dont use a 2".your tire may rub.

I chopped one inch out of my stock kickstand, drilled it, installed a stainless pin and welded it back together and it is perfect with the 2" link and 240 tire

If you want you can roll your bike tires onto various thicknesses of plywood (same front and back) until the bike is leaning how you like (with the new kickstand on the Ground). The thickness of the plywood would tell you how much you cut off the stand (At least I think) Dril it, pin it, and weld it, oh ya and paint it.
