Re: frankenstine vmax help! 1 year 1 week ago #21

I'm glad to hear about some improvement.

About the Starter, i'm not sure of you jumped over the thick Posts of the Solenoid, but if so, you most likely need to check out the Starter Motor. It's either a Coincidence(as Gibbs, it don't believe in these) or the Starter Motor was probably wrecked by a faulty Starter Clutch, which didn't disengage and ran the Starter as an Generator.

Whatever, you need to check out the Starter Motor out of the Motor.

pullled case off and double checked the starter gears they were fine, pulled starter and checked it. it spun up but weak, put a spare starter on it and it killed my brand new CHEAP battery in 2 revolutions! have to start putting away for a better battery i guess. could it be the starter clutch is going out and is causing such a hard start? or is it just the crappy cheap battery ya'll think?

ok i cleaned every connection to damn near a mirror finish no difference so im gonna try a larger diameter ground cable and work on the ground connections within the starter, do the solder and bolt method. :rolleyes2:

Just like you asked on the other site,
you need to use the old ecu with the old wire harness and old style pickups, check the fuse that sits to the left side of the battery on top next to the coils :hi:
also do you have the tach hooked in to the harness
and does the needle jump when you turn on the key?

I'm sorry to say, but if you didn't use the Gasket, you clamped down the Axles of the Reducing Gears, making it impossible for the Starter to turn over the Flywheel and the Crank.

Go get a Gasket and once of brought that in, it will turn over just fine.
