TOPIC: are there any 2011s which don't need the recall?

are there any 2011s which don't need the recall? 10 months 1 week ago #1

Ie, ones built after 4/2011? Or was April the end of the 2011 production?

April would have been the end of production. With only 1000-1500 being made, and that our Maxes are built in a shared facility (they build other bikes there), they make the entire years production of them in probably just a couple months.

Thanks

so when the Sept '11 recall notice stated:

"...Yamaha is recalling CERTAIN model year 2009-2011 VMX17 (V-Max) motorcycles, including the YB,YCB, ZR, ZCR AG and ACG variants, manufactured from September 2008 through April 2011."

This was just a more moderate way of saying that ALL 2009 - 2011 vmaxes were being recalled...

I suppose they may have introduced the new oil pumps late in the model year production, but I bet they were all included. For certain, they only build them in one plant, so I can't imagine they used two different suppliers for the oil pumps.
