The Q/S took some working, but i got it set back to what was needed.. The tech replaced all my washers and he added too many and i had to remove and ride and test.. Did it like 3 times til it was working right again..About an hour to fix and i hit my exhaust with some high heat Black paint to bring it back to the new look.. I'll replace the bolts that started rusting up and everything should be fine..
And ur right, they really don't give a sh!t about anyone's else's sh!t when it's there..Sad really!! Glad your up and running!
A sad reality is yes they will place your bike out in the elements even if you ask them not too.....if it's there any length of time. Usually a space issue! I drove three hours to a specialized shop to have work done on the Gen1 and specifically asked that it not be placed outside at any time. When I brought it home I could tell it was outside as you said some rust on bolts. Same deal I had to replace the rusted bolts! Their service was great and the Gen1 ran like an animal. Probably the only way to guarantee it remains inside is to take vacation time and camp out in their lot! Ken |

Not in their defense(not one bit, yet), butt alot o shops put their customers' bikes in at night and out during the day...az ken says(work space). Leaving your Max out at night would be very 'UnDude'.
What I cannot wrap my mind around iz how you would have rust. That usually comes from stuff like rain Humidity??? |

Rain, we had a few storms come in the DFw area and i'm sure it was sitting out in the day and got hit by rain and didn't get dried off.. So the parts that could just got serface rust..Not a bigdeal.. I just don't like to see it..

Glad your Max is fixed & you can ride it again.
Our dealer would place it outside as well, even in the rain. Fact is it wouldn't be weeks before it was fixed, which would eliminate the time it would need to rust up. In fact I wouldn't have had to bring the bike in until the parts were there. And if it would be bad for the engine to run, they would have picked it up with a truck. When a repair job takes longer than 1 hour, I'd get a bike from the shop to get home Usually I stay as long as it takes to get it fixed But I know things are different in your country, so.... I'm appalled you had to replace the rusted bolts |

I just don't like to see it.. That is really piss weak Q. It`s a pity someone didn`t get a photo of it out in the rain. I agree with Babe, either fix it while i am there, or give me a bike to ride home. Even if they put it out back they could have put a bike cover over it surely? And we arn`t talking about a cheap croch rocket either. We are talking about Yamahas most expensive bike. I hope it all works well for you mate and get another dealer if you can? VMAXD |

Yea, the last time called in to check on my bike I was asking them for loaner bike from them b/c I was being inconvenienced by them having my bike for so long.. & it was my everyday rider & I needed a bike.. & some how the parts just showed up..
I may drive by there 2day & talk & show the GM what all I wasn't happy with & what needs to be addressed by them for their customers.. U would hope they might want to listen.. I'll tell them anyways. My most concern with my bike being left out in the rain is the monster bigair.. U can't let water just run into the filter.. Filter will only hold so much moisture b4 it just runs into the topend of the engine.. |
