As Squeeze said, there's not one outside of the fuel tank..I've looked as well.. It's inside the fuel tank and it's not a standard fuel filter you can replace..

I have noticed a chattering noise when i switch on the ignition switch and if i give a very little throttle, the throttle linkages are chattering,

any ideas whats causin that ?
and when the bike is running, its the same amount of throttle opening that causes the uneven running,

looking in the manual there is a throttle position sensor, and an Accelerator position sensor,
could it be one of these ?

cheers

Usually if you have a problem with a sensor, it will throw a code. Check the throttle cable play (amount of slack)..

no codes, throttle cable didnt have enough freeplay,
slackened it off to 4mm but no change

The nightmare continues,

My bike does not need the wiring recall done,

i have spoken to a couple of yamaha dealers, none have had much experience with the new Vmax.

one tech said it could be the throttle position sensor,
( even though there is no fault codes showing )
and best to change the accelerator position sensor at the same time,
as they had to do that on a R6,

£180 for sensors, but he couldnt guarantee that it would be the end of the problem,

Hey, everyone. I've been experiencing the same issues over the past month and a half. Higher idling speeds, stuttering at 3500-4000 rpm, engine cut off as I drop below 2000 rpms, and lose of coolant in the reservoir which may be the cause to the overheating problem I have also been experiencing. :cigar:
I have spoken with the local yamaha dealer over the phone and he believes it may be the injectors. He instructed me to take the bike out for a hard run in an attempt to clean out the injectors, which I have on a couple of occasions and I am still having issues. I have recently used a couple of ounces of sea foam to help clean the fuel injectors. Still nothing.
My father was the previous owner and he babied the bike and didn't have any issues whatsoever. No mods and all shop work, to include all recalls. I did replace the spark plugs when I took ownership. But I don't believe that I could screw anything up with that job, right?

And the bike isn't throwing any codes. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Alex
