TOPIC: Extended warranty

Extended warranty 4 years 1 month ago #1

When I did the paperwork for my VMax, I chose not to get the extended warranty. I only have the two year warranty.
I was told that I could choose to get the extended warranty at anytime later.

So, lets say I chose to get it now.

How much should I expect to pay for an extended warranty?

I chose to get the 3 year extended warranty when I paid for the bike because the dealer stated that there would be a $79.00 inspection fee on the bike once it left the dealer. My additional cost for the three more years was $520.00. I didn't think that this was bad considering the complexity of this bike. This covers everything.

After owning a warrior with 5 recalls I figured the recalls cover the warranty work that might happen. Although with all these sensors the warranty might be a good idea.

I used the YES warranty for my FJR a couple of times but I'm sure it paid for itself.

One correction I believe you must purchase within 1 year of taking bike, not anytime after.

Extended warranties are almost always pure profit for the salesperson and dealer, whether its cars, bikes or electronics, etc. Most exclude anything that will wear out or can be said to be an abuse or maintenance item. I vote NO on all.

The Extended Warranty is worthless............If you orderd the bike before 10/31/08 you already got 2yrs. If you modify the bike you void the warranty anyway so what good is it,I have done this on my 07 Warrior and the steeler told me to bad!
