I might try this. Last time I dealt with this much wind roar was on the wife's Savage. We got so tired of it after trying different shields that we traded the bike in. Ain't going the same route with the Max.

Thanks to everyone else too for your input.

SAVE YOUR MONEY . It don`t work with a full face helmet .

The buffering from the windshield sucks big time .

Update I took the micro- swirl edging off and the buffering is not as much .
It was a total waste of money . The touring sheild was worse with the micro swirl

Seems that our new Vmax has some problems here and there: fuel injection, brakes etc.

What problems have you had so far? The only complaint I have so far (which really isn't a complaint at all) is that when I take off and give it some throttle, say to 2000 RPM give or take, it seems the ECU kicks in and changes the throttle setting and drops the RPM's - this is more than just an engine bogging down. It's almost like I'm letting off the throttle in which I'm not. This would be the only thing I would change.

6000 miles and it needs rear brake pads. Ordered them yesterday & only Yamaha factory parts are available. 56 bux for a pair of pads I can hide in my hand

ny1max,

Thanks for the update. I believe the touring shield is just too short to do the job the Gen 1 windshield did. Think we're done for a fix for this shield?

Already? Have 3000 miles on mine and the rear is barely showing wear.
