I haven't seen any pics of the AIS removal so here are mine. If anyone sees anything wrong please speak up. I rode 60miles to get another auto tuner map and the back firing has stopped. Thanks for the tips guys.

.Remove these three Hoses


Unplug and Tape up this Plug



These are 5/8 X 1.5" bolts. I counldn't find caps but they work They are screwed all the way in and zip tied.



I removed this entire piece and stuck a bolt into the tube leaving the airbox see two pics down

Mine's been disconnected for a couple of months. I used rubber plugs tho..

Thanks for all the pix Mike. It's one of those must do's when you ditch the stock pipes. The Warrior used to POP till I did that mod. I gotta do the Max next while it's apart. I think I even have the plugs.

an easier way is to just put a "plug" into the top (inlet) hose so no air can come or go. or put a rubber plug over the inlet nipple.

Ken, which hose is the inlet hose on the picture? And which is the inlet nipple? Can one take the whole AIS apparatus off to save some weight?

here is a shot of the a.i.s. valve removed. all that was required to remove everything was a rubber cap, a fitted tube connector and a small aluminum bracket (to remount the air temp. sensor).

I was looking at your picture of the AIS removal, and I think I see pretty much what you have done, The top right tube is completely removed and you capped the outlet from the airbox, the valve was removed and you joined the bottom left and bottom right tubes with some kind of connection. You disconnected the AIS plug (light blue), and it looks like you removed a lot of excess stuff. Here is my problem, What exactly can you get rid of, it looks like you got rid of a lot, including the front 2 of 3 white electronic plugs. In your picture you can see what was the rearmost plug still present but the others gone. What are these plugs and can you just eliminate them. I also would like to know what kind of bracket you used for the air temp sensor.

I decided to get rid of all of the clutter and pulled everything off and capped it at the valve covers. Hopefully someone will eventually machine a block off plate.
