Have a look at the pictures below. In one it show that the key look normally as placed in the ignition. In the other it shows the key in the same position but with the center portion of it lit up as though there is a red LED in it. I have also seen shots of this in some of the videos. If that is the case and it is not just some 'camera' effect and the key does light up... That's pretty cool!!

Could be a low fuel warning, or some other indicator.

Only the Yamaha key lights up the star key does not, because Star is better than Yamaha and comes with an auxiliary fuel tank that automatically switches over to give you an extra 100 mile range while the built in GPS calculates the shortest route to a gas station where pre paid fuel awaits.

Hey I’m on vacation, It’s raining, I’ve had a few cocktails and I’m still not over the whole VMAX is a STAR cruiser thing being crammed down Americas throats. Still going to Love my 09 Starmaha VMAX. Just thought I’d join in on all the pre-delivery speculation. Every time I look at pictures of this bike ,all I see are Stars and Tuning Forks???????????

Tell ya what, I'll sell you my MAX for $25,000 (cdn price) with the forks and I'll buy yours with the star for $20,000 (US price) and all will be well in the world. It dosen't matter to me if it's a star or a fork, all I'm looking for is the VMAX.

It is a little odd that yamy split it up like this. They should just pick one and stick with it on all the bikes built.

But what about that light anyways? In both the pictures the key is in the on position. Engine running maybe...

Yeah probably, it would be off while running.

No lights I am afraid. The International Yamaha color is RED not like in the US BLUE. They put some red stickers on the none US version. The Star key is nice and BLACK.

Did I mention I like the Star branding...
