Hey, everybody. I'm new to the forum but I've been reading all your posts for a while now. Anyway, I own a '98 Max and a couple weeks ago, on a particularly hot day, I got off work to find my bike tipped over on its side in the parking lot. At first, nothing seemed mechanically wrong, but yesterday I went to start up the bike and found hardly any resistance in the clutch lever (the Max is now stuck in first gear). The previous day the clutch had operated fine. Given the tip-over, I'm guessing that the problem isn't just low brake fluid in the master cylinder but either air or a leak in the hydraulic system. On a personal note, I ride every day, all year. I don't own a car and I can't really spare the money to take my Max back to the garage right now. I know that I need to fix the bike right, so, if anybody has any advice I would really appreciate it. Thank you all for your time.

Your best bet is to bleed the slave cylinder. If you don't have a manual to descibe the entire procedure you can get what you need here vmaxoutlaw.com/tech/index.html also,
Make sure nothing has happened to the shifter & linkage, give it a close inspection. Welcome to www.StarVmax.com |
