Anybody got some Wide Wheel mounting tips?? 1 year, 11 months ago #1

I'm installing my Wide wheel. Already did a couple of rear end dry runs (sounds pain-full I know!) got that down pat. But now.....what is the easiest way to get the wheel and tire in the dang swing-arm? Preferably without scratching the heck out of it! Do you need to pick the ass end all the way up and go in from underneath?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I block the tire up with 1x10 pine blocks gets it in close and go from there heavy to hold the rear in the left hand and try to work the tire in too just go easy ty

But....the tire and rim don't clear the drive housing and caliper bracket mount thingy if you try to go straight in. How do I get the rim and tire in position?

Take 2 minutes and put some good ole duct tape on the wheel to insure no scratches. Wish I did...

I thought you had to remove the rear drive housing and then install...

sorry roll the tire and rim in first place old shirt in area you might scratch really just have to go easy I use the wood to hold the tire up onto the hub then line up the caliper and spacers on oposite side then axel thru the rim is so close to the shaft it is tricky to really put much over that side to prevent from touchung anything. Do sudgest tape over the inspection hole after pulling mine apart was surprised by the amount of grime found inside the arm.

as I recall, with the punkin out the way, get the wheel in... and now slide the drive shaft in and mate the punkin to the wheel simultaneously lining everything up. You will finger it out.

Yeah rear drive is off...but the rest of the housing remains. I'll post a picture.
