So its been awhile since I showed any work. I can honestly say that working with red carbon fiber has been nothing short of hard labor. It takes twice as much epoxy and twice as much sanding to produce anything worth while. I have coompleted six pieces and could have probably made ten sets of the same six pieces in half the time with regular carbon fiber. I only have one picture outside of the right side gap cover I made. The rest are in the garage thanks to mother nature. Hopefully the weather will break soon so I can get a real feel for it all together in daylight

Twin Daddy,
I give you high marks for the quality of your work. It is truly awesome what you have done. I, personally, do not care for the red CF though. -Lee- |

I like it, the only thing I not real fond of are the scoop inserts, but other than that. Yeah. By the way, were did you get the mirrors?

Hey Tom
I make my scoop inserts out of nylon pet screen doubled up and hot glued together around the edges. I have them in both black and red but could make them in probably any color under the rainbow. They actually work really well keeping crap out of the scoops and air filter and will wash right off and never discolor. I also use a piece on my lower radiator grill and that too works really well. As for the mirrors they are Highway Hawk Psycho mirrors and I got them from Phils Mall in the UK and I love them. These mirrors do not come with a reverse thread though so I got a left side clamp from part shark and mounted it on the right side (no more reverse thresd on my bike) The only problem I had with these mirrors was that when I got them they had these numbers on the face of them (which aren't in the pics of the mirrors but it's a European part id thing or something) that I had to black out. Not quite sure how I feel about the red stuff as of yet either, maybe it will grow on me or maybe it will all come off and be given to someone with a 2010! |
