TOPIC: New Spark Plugs

New Spark Plugs 1 year, 10 months ago #1

I want to start my season with a new set of plugs and have a couple questions.

1. Is there a better place to buy new plugs than the dealer. Has to be.

2. It looks like a couple plugs are almost unreachable without taking off
some hoses?

3. Never fooled with COP before, looks like you just unplug the coil wire
and pop the coil cap off to reach the spark plug?

4. Sure not as friendly as the Gen 1.

why would you need plugs? Use the money for gas

from NGK- Service life of some OEM Iridium spark plugs can be as much as 120000 miles with very little degrading of performance in that lifespan.

Well, I do change them on my truck and car every 100,000 miles. I guess you are right. I change the Gen 1 stock plugs every Spring.

I think the tech is looking for work at his store, as they are supposed to do. Manual says 12,000, and that is even probably too soon unless you are having a problem.

Hey WJ, I'm at around 5k miles. Lets get together and have a "Spark Plug" party when the miles are right for both of us. And because I'm an unselfish kind of guy, we can change yours first.

I am at 3500, so at this rate I will be ready in 2012. See you then!

Sounds good to me. I can wait a few extra hundred miles over what you'll have, and two heads are better than one.
