What is the output of a 1996 alternator is there any known problems with them I'm new in the VMAX world. Thanks

Are you looking for the charging voltage? A known problem with with Gen-1 charging system is the regulator Behind your footrest(left passenger side). Sometimes a "passing diode check"(in the manual) could result in intermittent failure.

If your battery seems to be charging but ends up cooked this would be the issue.
