i just bought a 1998 vmax and i dont know how much horse power
it has, could someone who knows the correct numbers, please let me know. it is a canadian bike i dont know it that changes any thing.. thank you chris. |

All virtually the same from 85-07. go here

It should be around 110 - 115 horsepower if it is stock and in good tune. With a pipe and and Stage 7 kit you'll get about 10 more.

thanks for the info, i still havent sat on my bike, its 1000 miles away
at my brothers place,actually he droped off at the shop im getting the tire replaced, front brake pads, fork seals replaced, and the stop start switched cleaned, but i get to ride and see her in 8 days im counting them down. |

Welcome to the site and should like your Gen 1..It seems alot smaller then the Gen 2, but both are fun to ride..Good luck with you new toy.
