The Procedure to get the ECU in DIAG Mode are, (iirc), pull the Seat and the Fuel Pump Connector, push both SELECT AND RESET Button while the Main Switch is off, sitch it Main to ON while still holding down both Buttons at least for 8 Seconds, then Screen2 changes to DIAG, push both Buttons again for minium 3 Seconds to enter DIAG Mode.
But the Prodedure is described in the Shop Manual also. I did all my Calibrations while riding and using the LCD-200. btw, i noticed also my TPS Values changed a bit, maybe the Crimp is exposing his ugly Head over Time, since i had by now, i had no Issues with this. |

My TPS shows 100% while stationary at WOT If you are seeing this from the laptop/computer Power Commander 5 software AND you're not in diagnostics mode then the wrong signal has been routed to the PCV (most likely one of the APS signals) This is exactly what I am seeing NOW that I did the recall. Before the recall my TPS was fine and behaving as it should. So I know my wiring is correct. Digital Ground - Black/Brown wire on the 26pin connecter (smaller one) TPS signal - Pin #5 (White wire) on the same connector. I know there are 2 white wires. While in DIAG the butterflies will open 100% at WOT, however when stationary with only ignition on your TPS should read about 37% or so at WOT. This is not my case at the moment This old thread talks about it in detail on page 1 www.starvmax.com/forum/13-technical-vmax...throttle-calibration |

Thanks a million HossMan,
Not hat I need to do the mod just yet, since I first have to get my leg fixed and that's a very long term process My bike is in that unlucky bracket you mention (0000724) if I remember well, but I still have to know what that series 2S35 means, since I can't find it in the bike log. What I really want to give you is the "Thank You Sir" from the whole VMX17 community in Spain, since over here NO ONE knew about the recall, not even the Yamaha dealers Best regards to all, Spanish Flyer |

If you're saying that your TPS signal (to the PCV) can go to 100% when stationary and you're NOT in DIAG mode then ther is a wiring problem somewhere. If the take-off for the PCV TPS signal is coming from the correct position on the ECU plug (documented several times in several theads) AND you have had the recall done AND the TPS signal reads 100% when the bike is stopped (NOT in Diag mode) then I'm guessing that the recall harness has not been fitted correctly. Possibly the two white wires on the sub harness have been inadvertently fitted in each other's position in the ecu plug. Easily done if the recall instructions aren't followed correctly. |

From all of us in the Vmax community I'm really happy that you're on the mend (...easy to say I know!) I've taken a load of hints/tips/info etc., from this forum. A lot of it from you actually! So I'm just trying to give something in return whenever I can. |

I figured it out HossMan. I can see why you think there is a wiring problem. Hard to explain in a back and forth thread. All good now. Butterflies in sync with PC V again. The trick is to Calibrate your PC V while in DIAG mode when butterflies are open 100%. Signal reading 37% at WOT in normal mode again. Thanks for your help. |

Thanks for all the comments
And with Squeeze's year code details, now I know mine is one of the unlucky one's. From what I've heard in the Spanish and French forums we already have at least 5 declared "victims" plus my guess is all the French fleet as well Spanish Flyer |

Great you're keeping tabs on this recall business for Spanish and French riders! |
