TOPIC: No More Inspections

No More Inspections 1 year, 6 months ago #1

Got a letter today from NJ DMV stating that I no longer have to get my bike inspected and I should just remove my sticker from my plate. Don't get me wrong as I don't mind saving money and the trip to get it inspected but I'm confused as to why they would do this. Especially in this economy I can't understand why they wouldn't want more of my money. Maybe they figure they will make more from the tickets that could be written for stuff not working properly? Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm baffled Well actually my cans are gutted

T/W,

Don't know anything about inspections ?
Never had such a thing in Ca. ?
Don't know how they would make any money in more tickets ?
In Ca. A fix it ticket doesn't cost you anything--You just have to show a cop you fixed it and have him sign off on it .

Maybe they fired that inspection guy ?

All I can say is ...WOW!!

You're on to a good theory... i hope not though.. I hear ya on the "don't mind the little fee and saftey check..." up here they try to bag you on little things like my buddy had those knife levers and they said it was to pointy???? and the grips had points too...
WTF..
Integrated directionals is a no no tooo.. plate location... etc...

I just like to make sure everything works all the time.. I use hand signals/ gestures (cause nobody know what hand signals are)..most of the time.... but had a guy tell me my brake light was goood when I noticed I had to pushdown on the rear braked way too hard for my like'n.. I like to just tap the rear brake lightly to get the light to come on ...gets people off your azz!! etc...

The changes, which will produce an approximate annual savings of $17 million, will take effect as the MVC continues its efforts to encourage vehicle owner responsibility and regular maintenance through its NJ Inspections public education campaign.

Along with the change to the inspection of passenger vehicles, motorcycles and certain diesel-powered vehicles will no longer be required to submit for an inspection every two years.

One thing you can count on. They will come up with some other way to screw you out of your hard earned $.

North Carolina did away with stickers also, but Virginia still has them.
