There's a big chrome dial with 4 positions on the clutch lever. Set it where you have the most play.

It would also be wise to add a 2nd diaphragm (double disc clutch mod) before you wear out the plates.

The Double "D" that Bad_Max posted is a great fix...

Don't know if this is your problem but a problem that I found on the recently modded 2010 was that the Brass plug that came with the OEM Clutch Lever and that I moved over to the new Pazzos, was not machined out correctly and had brass "burrs" (is that spelling correct???)...in the hole of the brass plug that the clutch master cylinder plunger slides into, causing the clutch to be engaged more than it should be...did the same mods to the 2009 that I sold to Marks9222 and it didn't have this problem...

I took a standard tip screw driver and cleaned out that plug, put some graphite grease in there and now the clutch works great...

Just a QA problem with the Yamaha OEM Clutch Lever Brass Plug...no biggie...

MM,
Great deal!!!...you know about 6-7 months ago, Yamaha lost one of its largest parts sub-contractors which caused parts for most of their models to come to almost a stop...and they scrambled to find a new replacement contractor but most probably had to get multiple contractors to fill the void...I think that that may have caused these sort of QA problems...I am sure that Yamaha is on top of many of these issues but as we are seeing, there are still a few kinks...this lever problem, the boulevard windscreen bracket issue, missing safety and procedure stickers on the bike, incorrect color codes on some harness connectors...etc...

Glad you got it fixed and back on the road for a safe ride...

Hey Bad max I have read most of the thread about the double up clutch diaphram my question is downshifting and locking the tire
when cornering I have a tendency to shift and down shift a lot and did not want to have an issue with that and I have the shorty levers
and in a heavy traffic situtation like Daytona have an over average pull , The former owner you know mentioned that I did not need that upgrade but I want your opinion too . Lastly does it decrease you ET'S
or is the effect just the snap of instant clutch grab .
Thanks Capt Bob

Capt Bob,

I've done the D/C mod on both my 2009 & my 2010 !

It's a great improvement for both, Especially the 2009. With it's HP it will give my clutch a much longer life.

I also had questions about how this Mod would effect the Slipper Clutch ? Especially in down shifting. I haven't noticed much difference at all. Negligible if any.

Of coarse I don't ride like you Bob---MotoGP Style !

Thanks Mark , I wonder also if the extra spring will fit in my see thru case it already has an aluminum trim ring over the tensioner would hate to see a big etched circle in my case cover , And hows the clutch pull with shortys I get enough exercise with my left hand
like in a bumper to bumper situtaion

Clutch pull is increased, but I don't know how bad it will affect you as I still have stock levers. It's not bad with the stock levers. Yes, It shaves a few hundredths off your ET, but most of all it extends your clutch life. And with all the extra weight you have, every little bit helps. Slipper is affected but not that much..
