TOPIC: Engine Stall?

Engine Stall? 1 year, 5 months ago #1

I have a problem with my 09 Max,

When trveling at speed (70+) and Pull in the clutch, the engine will stall.
Revs fall to idle, hesitate for just a split second and then it dies.
It doesn't happen all the time, but when it starts it will do it consistantly for 10 -15 min.
Then it just stops and runs like normal. If the revs fall while in gear
it won't stall and if the the revs are lower (3500 or less) it doesn't stall.
Maybe once or twice it has just died from idle.
I have the xpipe, big air, speed fix, AIS mod, and am running Fxstein's map
on my PC-V until I can get it custom mapped. Coincendently it seemed to start
right after I did the double clutch mod. Any ideas??

You need to take it in for the recall. Those sysmptoms are what they will fix (for free)..

My bike was on the recall list and the part is ordered and in at the dealer, I just have to schedule the time. I was thinking it might be the same or similer problem, but they described an increase in idle speed so I wasn't sure.

Bad Max,

Since you just had yours done, did they have any issues with your mods? I know they swap out the TPS wire so I removed the PCV ground from it, but otherwise left everything in place includign Speed fix and the PC-v with autotune. The dealer is aware of the Mods I have made and dont have a problem with them, I am just wondering if it complicated the recall work and may give them more things to accidently break

Thats good to know, my local shop is very cool with the mods I have done, they are true wrench heads themselves, but it seems that the more stuff going on, the more likely something will get messed up
