TOPIC: Looking to get a new Exhaust

Re: Looking to get a new Exhaust 2 years 8 months ago #61

Qtip,

Your bike looks great with the 4-2-1 UFO pipe blacked out.
Is that paint or did you have it ceramic coated?
Got me wanting to send my Brocks pipe out and get it done in black , my can is already carbonfiber.

I don't want to step on any toes here, I very much enjoy riding with my new found Vmax friends but if I'd known the video being shot that day would be used to promote UFO in any way, I would have given it more of a go. I'm not saying I would have come out in front but, a couple of things to point out; I knew how much QTip wanted to beat me with my own pipe that he purchased from me at a steal. I was so disgusted with Jon Cornell and the LIES he tells and the POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES of UFO that I sold it for what I thought it was worth. Still I was so embarrassed at the condition of the pipe that I threw in the Kerker muffler. That's how worthless the UFO set up was to me after my dealings with Jon Cornell. As far as the "race" is concerned, I didn't much care as it was all in fun, I don't care much for competitions, they can sometimes get ugly amoungst friends as I have seen in other places on this fourm but I gave it a half hearted go. Again, if I'd known it would be used to promote Cornell's "products" I would have done differently, perhaps with the same results. The "custom" map I have has a dip around 4k that needs to be ironed out, the tuning was done when the temps and humidity were high in the middle of the Summer. On the second pass, I backed way off because of a mean bounce in the suspension. I'm running a 240 with a lowered front & rear and a very tight supension set up which made the bike bounce and I started to walk into QTip's lane, I backed off half way down the hill. I don't want to offend or piss anyone off and would have been content to keep my mouth shut until the post started to turn into promotion for UFO. I'll say it again, Jon Cornell is a thief, he took my money and never gave me all of what I paid for. The ceramic pipe I got from him was not ceramic coated, the coating turned brown an flaked off, the pipe came with a cheap masde in China can when I specifically requested the megaphone he had advertised. I will NEVER do business with UFO again. Stay away from Jon Cornell & UFO. Do what QTip did, find someone Cornell screwed over and pick up the parts cheap.

QTip/Ted, as I said, I have a lot of fun riding with you guys, I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses, the next time someone pulls out a video camera, I'll bring my "A" game or, we can take it to the strip.

I wouldnt worry about that video promoting UFO's business , most that have dealt with them feel the same way you do.
Like I said most of the UFO exhausts that are still on the new Vmaxs are ones that were bought used for hardly nothing.
How many used Akropovics or X-pipes you seen for sell?
And that video does no more than provide a good sound clip (and I have to say they both sound great) but it proves nothing as to which is faster.

TB21 - I used high heat paint on most of the pipe, but did a header wrap in black on just about all the rest.. Just not on the bottom pipe because of the clearance issues that I heard about the ufo right side.. It hasn't done it yet, so I should be good..I think the black completes the look I was wanting..

Vern - I want to say thank you again for the ufo setup.. We know it's all in fun when we run it.. :dancing: & your right, we do need to take it to the track/ 1/4mile.. I want to see if I can get in the 9's.. Would be a blast.. Set a date, time & place.. You would luv it!!

It's really hard to get a good comparrison doing rolling starts. Someone always twists the throttle a little sooner and gets the jump and thats the bike that usually runs in the front. So yeah so by all means take em to the track and be sure to trade rides on the second pass to alow for rider weight. Well if your a trusting friend !

Hindles Quote;

Prices

Slip-on systems are going to start at $950 for the oval high polished stainless steel mufflers with the adapters. The 4-2-1 full system is going to start at $1175 with the oval high polished stainless steel muffler. There will be a black ceramic coated option however I still need to work out the prices. The system must be purchased from Brock's Performance. Please be patient because we have just finished testing therefore we are planning to start a production run early next week.

Is "early next week" a current quote or from previous postings? Any update on a release date?
