Let me ask you a question.....do you know if anyone had any success with the Barnett coil spring conversion kit for the MT-01? Because it should be a direct bolt on to the Gen 2, and it can be purchased with high tension performance springs. |

Interesting, 2 sets of springs, 3 performance levels. $165
I bet it's single black spring, single red spring, or both for max performance? Time to snap some driveshafts! |

It is interesting for sure. What's confusing is that someone just posted here recently they had inquired to Barnett about a conversion for the Gen 2. They said that they did not have one, but were planning to come out with a heavy duty diaphragm spring. Huh.
I used the Barnett coil conversion in one of my Gen 1's with OEM friction plates. It worked great, much better feel IMO. And yeah.....it's probably all black for std. pressure, alternating black, red for increased pressure, and all red for max. |

This is the post from Maxout that I was talking about.
www.starvmax.com/forum/15-vmax-racing/14...y-duty-clutch-spring Could it be that Barnett does not know that they have a product already? |

I'm pretty sure that's the case.. We didn't know either & we're usually ahead of the aftermarket specialists..

Here and old post about Barnett diaphragm spring but why ho why did yamaha put such a weak spring in when they had the stage 3 spring I think we should all get on to Yamaha with this they will take more notice from the USA market than the UK and they might think you don't know about the stage 3 on your side of the pond

It's obvious why they did it.. I broke a driveshaft already with the double disc mod.. They knew full well that a weak clutch would save on warranty claims. They purposely used the same clutch so as to be the weak link in the drivetrain. Less brakeage & liability for them
Thanks for all of your helpful information. Now maniacs have a CHOICE! |
