Kind of suprised they did not bump out for the shift light. Looks like potential to make a whistle sound to me.

Wow am I impressed with the speed of Jeff at Monsterparts.com. Just exchanged emails with him and he said he orders from Puig about every two weeks. He also mentioned that he ordered and extra VMax windscreen just in case someone else wanted one quickly. I'll find out which color he ordered, Smoke, Dark Smoke or Black.

I'll be doing a write up when it arrives, so stay tuned.

The new shield came Wednesday, but I needed to ride with it before commenting. Since this is my first shield, I really don't have anyhting else to compare it to.

Okay, time for the vitals. I'm 6'4" so I don't think there's anything out there that'll eliminate air flow at my height. That shield would probably look like a sheet of plexiglass going down the road on two wheels. I really just wanted something that would take some air off of my chest and get rid of that hanging on feeling at speed. I also wanted to stop feeling like a bug strainer.

I installed the brackets on Thursday and the shield on Friday. It's VERY easy to install. Puig includes everything you need, bolts etc. Here are a few pics:

Rode with it installed for over 200 miles with the boys on Saturday. I can honestly say that I LOVE IT! I can ride upright at the 'speed limit' without getting that upper torso buffeting. I can also tuck for even more clean air. The shape of the shield seems to diffuse any real strong currents, so I could only feel the wind on the upper third of my chest with a gloveless hand.

I'll put my $.02 worth in too! Good assessment okbrown on how the shield functions. I have put about 12,000 miles on with the Yamaha "touring shield" and feel that the Puig windscreen deflects about the same. The Puig is slightly taller, but not as wide. I really like it! And hands down it is WAY easier to install! Looks wise I think they both have their pluses and minuses..............having said that, anyone want to buy a "used" Yamaha "touring shield"??????????

That would look great with Art's Accessory plate if they fit together.
