Thanks for sharing your experience. some of us would keep that Hush, Hush... But we all know it could happen to any of us... It would look pretty cool if we all strapped fire Extinguisher to our max's. No? Mike D |

I can see where this problem would occur with the Akrapovic and Brock's Mufflers because of the angle of the outlet...
But does anyone with for instance V&H, OEM, Scorpion or other muffler models, have or seen this problem???... The reason I ask is that, it seems that the V&h and Scorpions for instance have more of an outlet angle that is perpendicular to the ground, thereby directly the hot gases straight back or even slightly towards the ground...and the OEM mufflers have a slight outward angle which again deflects the hot gases away from the bike's fenders and bags... Anyone???... Art |

Mine melted with the scorpions kept my socks and underware nice and warm! Biggest thing is the removal of the cat once its gone the heat passes right through. V&H is probably the one exception I would think lower and longer to the rear. I also know my rear fender and Randys have hade fumage smudgegage from the exhaust gasses good cleaner it comes off but definatley in the line of fire. |

Taitan do you think just a slash cut would have worked? Also did you remove your CAT?

Because the stock exhaust points away from the bike and I use a CAT I am betting it would work fine without tips but even if I put slash cut tips on it would direct the exhaust back instead of up at all and I am thinking it might work. Again no issue most likely because of the CAT. A friend sent me some tips to try and maybe that would get them off the bench and on the bike!
