TOPIC: Powerlet

Re: Powerlet 1 year 8 months ago #11

I have used Powerlet stuff for about 10 years starting with my 01 Gen1. Right after I picked up my gen2 it was one of my first upgrades. I used a different way to get the power. Here's what I did:

With my tankbag setup for power as you did:

Setup to use my GPS

Aewhitney: nice set of products hey? Like your style.

I just outfitted my bag for my DSLR. She is nice and cozy now. Just hope she doesn't fly off the tank as she is heavy
There were no weight instructions on the bag so not sure how strong these magnets are, but feel pretty strong on there.
I tried it on another magnetic surface with some strong shacking and she is holding So I am hoping there isn't that much G force on the fake tank area when I ride

Here are couple of pics installed:

Thank you guys for posting about powerlet. I did not know about them before. Very awesome products. I think my tailbag will get a powerlet treatment. I have an SAE connector alread right by the flip up seat. It will be perfect.

No trouble Mike. If I find something useful I think might come in handy to other's I share
What I like about powerlet setup is that you can have tons of different plug options and power where you need it. I am not constrained to running individual power sources straight to the battery.

You can have multiple bags with a bulkhead on each bag. So you can quickly swap out bags for what you need on the day. The above pictured bag is my camera bag obviously. Soon I will have my magnetic Vmax bag coming and I plan to outfit that in a different way for days when I don't need my DSLR camera with me.

You can really let your imagination run with this powerlet stuff.

Randy I missed your question. Powerlet stuff is all water proof, but my cheap bag above isn't. Most bags will leak through the zippers, but nothing a plastic bag won't fix in case it rains. That's my cheap fix ;-)
