TOPIC: Galfer Clutch Friction Plates

Galfer Clutch Friction Plates 4 months, 4 weeks ago #1

Once again Galfer comes thru with an awesome product , When I found out my clutch was toast while doing the recall

I installed Big D's Barnett set but did not care for it very grabby and tough to get into Neutral , Ted (Q tip)

posted up a link for the Galfer and I bought on Amazon for 87 bucks w/free shipping .

Totally happy with it way more surface than the factory plates smooth and still has an easy pull with double D mod

and snicks right in Neutral like the stock one Kudo's to Galfer . part # CK 2380

Thanks Captain that's good to know that there is another option other than the stock parts. Keep us updated on how they work after you put some mileage on them.

Did you ever get your braided lines installed?

Ha ha LOL ....yup all those mufflers...

It's actually been pretty warm here too, but haven't gotten the bike out, unfortunately. Maybe I'll get out for a ride on Christmas, that will be a first...haven't really ridden in over a month....I'll make believe I just got it under the tree.

Christmas is almost here....only 1 more day that I can threaten the kids to keep them in line (that they won't get all their gifts) then a month or so that I can keep them in line threating to take them back. After that I'm screwed....back to normal, they'll run roughshod over me. Oh well......

Merry Christmas to you and your family too Capt!

Ya, would buy them again in a heartbeat I have been punishing em at the track with back to back runs and so far so good
keep in mind this is just the friction plates not the steels you will need to reuse the yami ones .

Would you be buying the Yammi steels ?

I would inspect them it takes some serious heat like constant drag runs to hurt those you can tell they will "blue"
and even in some cases get out of round but my guy said 2-3 frictions to i set steels.

Yeah. I just ordered them from Yamaha sports plaza. $65 for the steels delivered. They looked pretty shaby when I had the recall done.
