TOPIC: Project Angel Eyes

Re: Project Angel Eyes 1 year 2 weeks ago #11

Hey John

Got them from China (Hong Kong) via eBay of course
You can buy them here: Get the 80mm diameter and 71mm diameter (the bottom needs 74mm, but couldn't find that size)

I attached them simply by 3M double sided tape that comes with the lights
But I hat to remove the mesh to run the wire behind it and put it back again

Kris your Camera prowess is evident great shots , Do you have one like in a dark garage so I can see how much light the "eyes"
Give off getting excited about getting them have a good felling they will work out very well with the photochromic ones
And do have yours on a toggle or on with the key

Did you have to trim the mesh to get the wires run thru?

I know you are into photography Bob and you had a pretty good kit of your own so I don't have to explain to you about the effect of the light on your photos. Especially taking photos of light objects. The closer I zoom in the more washed out the photo will be so it will be no good. Even with a tripod its a hard ask to get that magic shot. I will try not the less :-)

I did not wire them to a switch (can be easily done(, I just haven't as I want them always to be on.

I haven't seen these specific ones in RED listed on eBay Rudy, but on the back of the package it seems to list a whole bunch of colours so maybe they do make them in Red. Here in Australia you can't have Red lights facing forwards on the bike as its illegal and you will get pulled up on it. White is okay as daytime running lights and in the evening.

I still think amber would be cool in the bottom ring as an indicator, but I think I will just go with Mark's Custom Dynamics install. I need to re-do my front indicators again as I don't think the UFO product is bright enough during the day, especially now with the rings!

You can see on the back of the box that there are some colour indicators (I think that's what they are)

No, but I did have to remove it to run the wire under it and then put it back on.
Some might want to drill a little hole in the corner, but I opted against that
The mesh is only held by 3 tabs that can be easily snapped as its a thin mesh, you just have to go slow and be careful
