I am excited to get my retro fitting done now. Matt seems like a real stand up guy in his email. He is quoting it all up now to send me an invoice. Should have the kit in a week or so ai hope.
Those Florida citizens must think there is a UFO coming up behind them now for sure. I don't think there will be anyone disputing your visibility on the roads now. Roadtrip: you are welcome. I should ask the manufacturer to become a site sponsor now. Lol Good luck on your search for amber ones. I would email them direct and ask if the have any. Maybe they just haven't listed them. |

Pretty simple First you need more wire about 36 in more red and black you will need an assortment of wire connecters
prob best to buy a kit with a 12 volt test light looks like a small ice pick you will need butt connectors for 16 - 18 ga wire they should be in the kit you will use those for joining the light wires together and attaching the longer wires , a suitable switched (key on /off) hot lead can be found leading into the fuse block under the right side case you can find a switched hot with the test light connect the clip end to the - side battery and probe the wires under the block it will pull off the rubber mount and you can flip it over to access the wires when you find one that does not light up hold that and turn the key on and if it lights up you have a switched hot , do not use the ABS fuse wire though , the kit should have a scotchlock wire connector (wire to wire) once you route the wire make your connection do not turn it on yet take the black wire and connect it to the - negative side of battery with a terminal ring connector , their are much better ways of doing this but the lights are a low current draw and with limited electrical knowledge so this should be ok take your time and make the connections and splices clean and no stray wires out of connectors. You will need a good wire stripper and crimper for the connectors you can get all this at an auto parts store ask them they will help you get the right stuff. PM me if you have any questions hope this helps. Doubt the Butterflys will be ready anytime soon the V roomy and a couple other projects are ahead of that i believe. |

Can someone please take pictures of electrical installation and physical position of on/off switches, in case you want only one pair as day time running light.
And what kind of led bulb is required for little light on top of headlight to match these angel eyes color? |

Matching the colour is always a challenge and a trial and error process I didn't document the process of the electrical installation, because I thought it was kids stuff to be honest and wouldn't be of much value. CaptBob did a little write up on how you can wire these up easily and also put a switch. You can choose any location for your on/off switch that suits you. It really is as easy as it gets in my opinion. |

I installed my led rings last nite. I drilled small holes in the mesh to run the wires thru, so the ring would lay flat on the mesh. I'm not completley happy with the double sided tape stuff. I may use blk. silicone on them if they give me any trouble or come loose. I just picked up 12v switched off the top of the starter solonoid. I wedged a spade connector into the plug at the top. Seems like a better place to pull power and eaiser to wire than under the side covr. Gonna go back and add a small inline fuse.
Plugs disconnect at each scoop. Looks good. |
