I baked my light housing today and installed the projector, thanks to this thread it was pretty easy. I did do one thing different for the alignment though, instead of grinding on the back of the reflector bucket i filed the tabs on the centering ring to get the projector turned to level. I then used some epoxy just incase but it was in pretty tight. My problem is this wire harness that came with the kit, i see no way to install this the way it is???? Did you guys remake this thing to put the relays some where? Im pretty frustrated trying to make this harness work the way it is thats for sure.

You are right Phil. The wiring kit is very bulky for a bike in my opinion. In addition the Balast wiring and relays can only be installed in the left scoop due to the wire length. So that's what I did on the 3 bikes I completed now. I think the air flow is important to these components and it will get plenty in here.

The factory 3 pin female plug that goes into the bulb has to be either extended OR you need to open up the factory conduit/wrap that holds it together with other wires for the little bulb and the tacho. Once you open up the conduit if you want to call it that you can run the plug from right side to left side through the frame of the bike to the harness male plug. That solves one wiring issue.

Then you have to fit the 23K V plug for the new bulb in between the airbox and the frame gap on the left side of the bike. It helps if you remove the bronze cover that sits over the ignition to do this. It's a tight fit, but it does go through there and then through the neck of the frame to the headlight. I also wrapped the wire with some black electrical tape so it's less visible. You do the same process here for your low/high beam solenoid plug. There are two identical plugs and you can use either plug for the solenoid.

Then you just plug the other same looking plug into the Balast itself and run the positive and negative to the battery. I've shortened these as they were too long and I wanted it neat.

Hope that makes sense Phil.

Can I just say that I tested this headlight last night in pitch dark. I wear glasses so extra visibility is always a bonus for me. It is an amazing difference from stock and I highly recommend this mod to everybody. It is a lot of work but with these helpful videos I am sure you will manage it..it increases the safety and not to mention transforms the look of the bike to spectacular....again a big thank you to my brother Kris

Cheers

I found the headlight part of the install to be the easy part, had that done in under two hours (Thanks to Kris) but also didn't have to polish the lens as it is still new.
The mounting of the relays and the ballast has to be done just so or the scoop won't go back on and i fought with this for hours. I also had to extend two of the harness leads to reach the headlight area and shortened the battery leads a few feet (yes there that long). After finally getting the wiring worked out to reach where it needs and fit all under the scoop i went to take the light off one last time and when i twisted the connector off the HID bulb the damn lock tabs on the bulb base that hold the plug on broke off so now i have to rush a new bulb up here :arghhh: so pissssed! The bulb still works so i was able to test it on the garage door and the beam was level and everything worked well and very bright so happy with that.

Phil that totally SUCKS after all that and then it's useless till you get a new part , did you by chance check a locally for a 6 K bulb
Don't know if you have access up there to stores lik that I know here it would be no prob , seems everyone adds their own cooking to
This mod I took a file to the socket to fit the bulb , I don't remember having any wiring problems but I did not have the Halo so mine
Mightbhave been less wire laden then the kit you got at least you got the long ballast wire , hope you get r up and secure with the new bulb and all do keep us posted.
