TOPIC: Tribute to Gen I

I always liked them on the Gen I so I though I'd install them on the Gen II.
I wasn't impressed with the quality, as the polishing wasn't as good as it should be. You can't tell in the photos, unless you look real close, but I expected better from these guys (not sure why). I might need to do something about those to get them to perfection I also installed the OTEC X mounts, carbon radiator guards and Custom dynamics plasma rods as front indicators. It came together nicely. BEFORE: AFTER: |

Looks frigin sweet Kris, are those cylinder trim pieces OTEC also? Are those little things i see on top of the radiator the signals your talking about? I also notice your SATO rear sets, i would like to do those this winter but I'm not sure if my long legs would like them or not. Stock pegs have my knees in the scoops and would like to gain a little more comfort. I see your quick shifter there, did you have to mod the shift shaft to fit or did it bolt right up?

Thanks Phil! That's a lot of questions mate
1. They are not OTEC they are Optimal Carbone. Nostalgie Kit I think its called. I like it too! 2. Yes. Those are the Custom Dynamics plasma rods that Mark found a while back and are much brighter than the crappy UFO ones I had. Here is a photo comparison (side by side) 3. If you are any taller than 6' I wouldn't bother Phil. I can barely live with them myself and I am 6'. My brother is 6'2" and he couldn't do it 4. Yes the quick shifter works with it (JUST). I didn't have to fabricate anything which was lucky. But again I would cosider alternatives as these were made for short ass riders like me |

Thanks for that, didn't think the SATO"s would work as I'm 6'2 and long legged. The plasma rods are bright, holy cow!
Sorry about all the questions. The car in your garage is sweet two! |

Nice Upgrade Chris, i like it.
Hirevn, i think Rear Sets from Moto-Art or Lauterbacher would get you there. The Pegs sit more back, past the Swing Arm Pivot Covers, but they need a sharper Knee Angle. I use both of them, depending on what i'm gonna do. Itgoes and i had vast Discussion about Rear Sets maybe four Months ago. or Moto-Art ... here www.max-kraftraeder.de/ click on showcase and then Vmax 2.0 customized |

First off Kris that looks very nice those motor mounts are like Machine Shop Jewelry nothing like CNC 6061 I always thought they were a crucial part to the OTEC set. You know you are going to confuse the Gen 1 riders all to hell with those bits lol. I like the look though I am sure they are top quality as well they are normally very proud of their work quality and price. Phil I have the OTEC rearsets and wear a 36 inseam I fought that for a while took 6 months for my body to conform to them before i added 1.25 inches of high density foam to the seat, not Memory foam that stuff holds your butt in one position i need to move around on long rides my Upholstery guy charged 75 bucks for that and it was the best money i spent on the bike for long rides i used to use a gel pad to sit on not anymore what a difference I can hook just the corner of the scoop with my knee now. Quite the Contrast the other T signals need the super LED's to be more visible looks as if Marko might be enjoying them now lol. perhaps a LED retrofit or a plasma insert . Kris you keep breaking new ground here would you post up a link to the trim pieces . I know Mark posted up a link a while back for the Plasma rods but perhaps a fresh one as well. |

I will never be set Bro!!!
Here you go Capt! Word of warning Capt. While I still like them and they are a nice addition they are not great quality. Well I expected better from them The metal is rough, not very well polished, painting isn't very good around the edges. You can't tell any of this unless you have the pieces in your hand But I think I can "repair" them a little to make them perfect. I will try to take a photo close up, but I am going to Sydney next few days. Kit Nostalgie - Optimal Carbone: www.optimalcarbone.fr/nostalgie.html Custom Dynamics Plasma Rods: |
