I didn't care for the DD at first. Didnt like the pull, didnt like the loss of the slipper. I 'got' tuned right in w it because it was installed w me 2nd whole clutch @ 13k miles(which waz actually burnt/slipping @ 9k miles), my left arm waz fresh out of a cast, and we did the christmas toy run. My arm looked like popeye for the next three days. I'm a two finger shifter also.....
Now, I freakin love my DD(even the letters of it). My clutch feels inpenatrible. I can hammer it like i like. No worries. just have the slippage of the spring checked w oil changes. Sooo,,,,IMO,,,it just comes down to riding style and how ju abuse your yammi weak link. Do what it takes for your amusement and Ride Fun, you know??? And yes for what Ted iz talking about(track), its not indicated. |

Only downside for me is it is too easy to chirp the tire while downshifting. |

That's all fine Vic but what do you do with your other two fingers ? Lol Bob, I typed that gem out on my new Galaxy phone last night pissed . My footy team had just won. I should have said I keep my 2 smaller fingers and thumb permanent around the hand grip and use the other 2 fingers for the shorty cluth lever. Reason being I nearly lost my grip on a bad wheelie at the start one time, using the normal lever, whilst using all fingers on the clutch. It scared the shit out of me as I nearly lost it big time. I don`t know how others do it, but I am really comfortable with the shorty set up and 2 finger method. VMAXD |

If you're concerned about the Slipper Clutch disengaging later than you feel right, undo the Clutch Hub and take one or two of the four Springs out.

The slipper still seems to work ok with mine....although the wide Sticky Conti tire may be helping as well. I could/would regularly lock up and severely hop the rear tire on my Gen 1 when down shifting aggressively. I don't have that issue at all with the DD on the Gen 2. Changing out the levers helps a lot as far as the pull goes, and I think the braided lines probably help as well. Well just my 2ct here But was at the track with Mark tonight and I would have to say that my Busa clutch is a harder pull in then the D&D mod on Marks bike , And if ya think that it's a hard pull The Barnett on my gen1 is a real work out |
