Ted,
Rode with the new Shinkos on and I gotta tell you at first I didn't like these tires, the turn in was way faster than the Metzlers I was running before.I guess the combination of the bike feeling like it was going to fall over in the turns and the new tires being so greasy and squirrely, it was one butt clenching ride! By the time I got close to home they started feeling better though, I think once they get worn in a bit more I'm gonna like these tires since I like the twisties more than a straight line...though this bike does make a straight line fun. Thanks for testing and bringing these tires to everyones' attention and for the Smalltires link! |

Thanks for testing and bringing these tires to everyones' attention and for the Smalltires link! I had the same Experience. Check your Tire Pressure and play a bit with it and you'll love the Shinkos. Front is also feeling much better since i got the Pressure dialed in, feels very confident now, wet and dry. I'm at 2.6 bar now, measured at ambient Temperature. I love these Tires. With the Metzeler on the rear at the Drag Strip, i had to lift my Butt a little and hold the Brake and whalla, burn out at low RpM. Now, with the 200 Shinko, i have to grab the Brakes tight to not launch out of the Burn Out area. Hard Launches off the Line are much trickier since the Shinko, as fat as i am, i never had my Bike raise the Front, but now, it goes up and up, and still is very light when shifting into second. Unbelieveable Grip !! |
